Julia Paul has been advising clients for more than 15 years on all aspects of public commercial law, with a particular focus on EU state aid law and research and development. Her clients include the public sector, as well as public and private companies, universities, and research institutions.
Julia Paul has extensive experience in identifying and mitigating EU state aid risks in existing and planned contracts, including through the drafting of engagement agreements, the application of the private investor test, and the structuring of service/consideration relationships of all kinds in compliance with EU state aid law.
She also regularly reviews contracts in the field of contract and collaborative research for compliance with the EU Framework for R&D Aid.

She is married and has four children.
